Grenada, Southern Caribbean

We arrived into Port Louis Marina, Grenada on the 31st December 2023. We moored and Archie insisted he be the first to set foot on land. But we all did it together, no one fell over but we were certainly a bit wobbly. The town of St George was a welcome relief from our very long passage. We enjoyed the restaurants at the marina and went swimming in the ocean. The water was warm and filled with a variety of beautiful tropical fish and plants. We saw our first Conch and just marveled at the beauty of it all.

The colour of the water was incredible and we had our first down pour with warm rain.

We then sailed to the south to Prickly, Clarks Court Bay and frequented Le Phare Blue. This is where we met the one of the loveliest couples, Nigel and Susan. Another couple we met, went through a Hurricane on their boat. Their stories were crazy and scary. The heat was intense but wonderful. We took part in a HASH, which is a local island community based walking/running group. It was great fun and a wonderful way to experience the amazing landscape. Mango, coco bean, nutmeg, banana’s and papaya are just a few of the amazing fruit/veg/spice that can be seen growing wild. Fruit and veg were expensive, so glad we did a substantial essential shop in Europe.

We loved our First taste of Caribbean and left very excited to see what our next destination.
