On the open sea…

What a serious business Neptunes steps were. We were so exhausted we decided to stay a night in the newly furnished Corpach Marina. Which is at the other end of the Caledonian Canal. We met an interesting person with a very lovely 57ft Halberg Rassay. I am not shy of asking to see someone’s boat, people love showing off their boats. It was incredibly luxurious the space between objects felt enormous compared to Tyrian (the widest space is 1.5m between objects). One interesting and clever design I let my green jealous monster out on was the refrigeration. The boat had 3 large freezers and 2 fridges.

Feeling the fullness of Ben Nevis behind us, we set sail for the first time on the open sea. The air felt alive and salty! The seas were calm so actual sailing was not an option. The sun shined all the way to Oban where we staying overnight and saw our first beautiful wooden yaucht.

We then sailed to Loch Aline and had a wee adventure on land and after a calm nights sleep we sailed North to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Tobermory is a beautiful picturesque town. We met up with Graham (friend and first crew member). Archie caught his first fish, a mackrel that was delicious. We sat on our first mooring bouy and waited for the northerly easterly winds to push us south along the west coast of Ireland.

Love to all..
